Online Teaching Telefolio

Context
I began work on this Teaching Telefolio during my CI 3850 ("Literacy,
Technology, and Instruction," Fall 2003) course, taught by Dr. Gary
Moorman. This telefolio is an online portfolio of some of my work
as a
pre-service teacher, with an emphasis on how I have addressed
technology competencies for educators as described in NETS-T.
During my student teaching experience, I have continued adding
artifacts and updating the site as a whole. This telefolio was
created using Netscape Composer and AppleWorks, and FTP software was
used to upload files to the Web.

Impact
This artifact will support my teaching by serving as a resource bank
for unit plans (Artifact 4), math education web site information
(Artifact 3), specific lesson plans (Artifacts 1, 5, and 6), and
documents related to technology (Artifacts 7, 9, 10, 11, and 12).
Above all, this artifact will support my professional development by 1)
serving as a tool for communication with colleagues, and 2)
demonstrating how my instructional practices satisfy INTASC
requirements for initially-licensed teachers.

Alignment
The creation of this telefolio required the use of many types of
software: web browsers, FTP software, e-mail software, word processing
software, and HTML editing software, so this artifact satisfies NETS-T
standard I-A for introductory knowledge and skills.
During my pre-service training, I have used online references such as w3schools to improve my skills
with web authoring in order to control all aspects of the sites I
produce. In this way, this artifact demonstrates standard I-B
for continual growth in technology knowledge and skills.
This artifact demonstrates INTASC standard 9
for reflective practice and professional development, since the
telefolio 1) serves as a tool for communication with colleagues, 2)
contains links to professional organizations and scholarly journals,
and 3) contains my philosophy of education which will be updated as I
gain experience in the field.
This telefolio demonstrates competence in NCATC standard 12.3,
since I have used computers and technology to communicate with
colleagues, parents, and students about classroom activities and
procedures.
