Context
I created this Algebra 2 Materials Portfolio as part of my CI 3080
course ("Teaching High School Mathematics," Spring 2004), taught by Dr.
Art Quickenton. I used mathematics and
mathematics-education web sites, as well as textbooks, to create a list
of key topics for an Algebra 2 course. I compiled a list of
web-based resources, including notes, examples, and lesson plans which
relate to each topic.
This artifact should be used by any pre-service or in-service teacher
who needs information on Algebra 2 topics or links to Algebra 2 lessons
and information on the Internet.
-
Impact
This artifact will support my planning by serving as a starting point
for information about Algebra 2 on the Web. The linked lesson
plans and activities will support my teaching. As a part of this
online Teaching Telefolio, this artifact serves as a form of
communication with colleagues about teaching algebra.
-
Alignment
This artifact serves as an outline for Algebra 2 topics and includes
links to information about teaching Algebra 2; thus this portfolio will
help to increase my productivity in the future (NETS-T standard V-C).
Since the creation of this artifact required that I locate, evaluate,
and select technology resources, NCATC standard 10.6
is met. Since this artifact contains short- and long-term plans
for teaching Algebra 2, it satisfies INTASC principle 7
for planning.
